Terms of service

These terms apply when you use open-tags.com or purchase products from opentags. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Development products

opentag products are development and evaluation hardware for robotics and engineering work. They are not designed or certified for life-support, medical, emergency, automotive safety, or other safety-critical use. You are responsible for validating your integration and obtaining any approvals required for your end product or deployment.

Orders and payment

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Payment is processed by Stripe. An order is accepted when we confirm it. We may cancel and refund an order if a product is unavailable, a price is incorrect, or we reasonably suspect fraud.

Shipping

Shipping dates are estimates, not guarantees. Risk of loss transfers when the order is delivered to the address provided at checkout. You are responsible for accurate delivery information and for any taxes, duties, or import charges not collected at checkout.

Returns

Unused products in their original condition may be returned within 30 days after delivery. Contact hello@open-tags.com before sending a return. Original shipping charges and return shipping are not refundable unless the product arrived defective or we sent the wrong item.

Limited warranty

We warrant opentag hardware against manufacturing defects for one year after delivery. At our option, we will repair, replace, or refund a defective product. This warranty does not cover misuse, modification, improper wiring or power, accidents, normal wear, or use outside the published documentation.

Software and open-source materials

Software, firmware, documentation, and design files may be provided under separate open-source licenses. Those licenses control the materials they cover. Product names, branding, and site content remain the property of their respective owners.

Disclaimer and liability

Except for the limited warranty above, products and services are provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. opentags is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. To the extent permitted by law, total liability relating to a product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these terms as the business changes. New terms apply to use and orders after their effective date.
